Wyoming FOP is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of law enforcement in the State of Wyoming.
The Wyoming State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police is a fraternal organization representing active and retired professional peace officers across the State of Wyoming. Composed of local subordinate lodges and an elected Board of Directors, the State Lodge serves as a unified voice dedicated to advancing the law enforcement profession, safeguarding officer welfare, and building strong relationships with the communities we protect.
Drawn from the constitutional preamble of the Wyoming Fraternal Order of Police, our organization is dedicated to the following core tenets:
Constitutional Defense: Supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States while cultivating unwavering loyalty and allegiance to the nation.
Rule of Law: Promoting and fostering the fair, effective enforcement of law and order.
Professional Excellence: Improving the individual proficiency and technical efficiency of peace officers in the performance of their duties.
Integrity & Esprit de Corps: Cultivating a strong tradition of fraternalism, mutual helpfulness, and professional fidelity among law enforcement officers under all conditions.
Community Trust: Establishing and elevating public confidence in the service dedicated to the protection of life and property.
Professional Standards: Advocating for the uniform application of the civil service merit system for law enforcement appointments and promotions.
Community & Fraternal Engagement: Encouraging social, educational, and charitable activities for our members and the communities they serve.
The Wyoming State Lodge is an independent professional body governed by its constitution and the Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Professional Autonomy: The Lodge operates as an independent fraternal order dedicated to the common good of its members, maintaining full autonomy from labor organization control.
Dedication to Public Service: The State Lodge strictly prohibits strikes or concerted actions that disrupt a peace officer's official duties, guaranteeing our steadfast commitment to public safety.
Equal Representation: Membership is open to regularly appointed or elected, full-time employed peace officers and retired officers in Wyoming, without regard to race, creed, sex, religion, color, age, national origin, or lifestyle preference.
Subordinate Lodges: Across Wyoming, local lodges represent officers within their respective jurisdictions, providing local fellowship, community involvement, and professional representation.
Wyoming Wapiti Lodge - Lodge at Large: To ensure no officer is left without representation, the Wyoming Wapiti Lodge provides a fraternal home for eligible peace officers serving in areas where a local subordinate lodge does not yet exist. Wapiti Lodge members retain full voice, voting rights, and state representation.
State Leadership: Administrative governance is conducted by the State Board of Directors—comprising the executive officers, the Wyoming National Trustee, and State Trustees elected from each local lodge—under policies set at our Biennial State Conference.
Advocacy & Support: Through our State Legislative Committee, the State Lodge monitors state and federal policy to advance legislation that protects peace officers, their families, and the citizens of Wyoming.
